During 2013 we got many positive comments about the wildflower planting on the Doffcocker roundabout at the junction of Chorley Old Road and Moss Bank Way (see picture). The Council has stopped mowing the roundabouts to save money. The relatively cheap cost of sowing wild flowers is actually cheaper, and was funded by the Area Forum.
This year we have decided that the roundabout will again be planted with a wildflower mix. As 2014 is the 100th anniversary of the start of the First World War, we will include a large proportion of poppies to commemorate all those who died during that conflict.
We hope residents appreciate the display.
