Liberal Democrats in Government have raised the income tax personal allowance every year. By next April, nobody will pay any tax until they earn at least £10,000 a year.

That’s a £700 tax cut for millions of people. Nearly 4 million of the lowest paid will have been lifted out of paying tax completely.

Now, we have launched a campaign to lift the personal allowance to £10,500, giving everybody another £100 tax cut. That will be another step towards our goal of increasing the allowance to the same level as the minimum wage.
