After a lot of delays the 20 mph zone around the Lowndes Street area is now operational. It was proposed to slow the expected increase in traffic caused by the Wainhomes development on the former Guide Dog site.

We consulted residents about extending the zone to cover the whole area bounded by  Devonshire Road, Chorley Old Road, Mornington Road and Lonsdale Road. The overwhelming reaction from residents was that they wanted the zone extending.

The cost was covered by money paid by the developer.

We hope it improved road safety in that area.
