SCOTTISH REFERENDUM
Liberal Democrat Councillor for Smithills Learn more
by rogerhayes on 22 April, 2013
As part of the savings it is making, Bolton Council is proposing to close Animal World. That would be a further kick in the teeth for Moss Bank Park and the team of volunteers who have worked so hard to keep it open and improve it.
The Council proposed closure before, but was persuaded to change tack then by a strong public campaign. The difference this time is that there are no local elections this year, so public pressure is less likely to have any influence.
Most of the saving is expected to be spent instead on parks in other areas of the town.
