As reported earlier, a further planning application by ‘Zest’, 877-879 Moss Bank Way (for retention of first floor as a conference facility, training room and cookery school) was approved by Bolton’s Planning Committee on 12th November. Approval was for a 12 month period with some conditions.

Zest has now applied to have two of the conditions lifted – the applicant wants to be allowed to open later on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays (to 11.30 pm instead of 10.30 pm) and to be allowed not to construct a kerb extension to the central reservation of Moss Bank Way – this was to try to discourage drivers from turning right onto the roundabout, which is a very dangerous manoeuvre.

I am unhappy about this, and have asked for a decision to be made by the Planning Committee rather than being delegated to officers.
