Bolton’s Planning Committee has unanimously passed the planning application for extensions to this medical centre.
Some residents had objected because the two storey rear extension was too close to their homes and they could be overlooked. Officers reported that the extension would still be further away from neighbouring houses that the minimum standard. A condition was imposed that obscure glass must be used in upstairs windows that overlooked nearby houses.
Other residents objected on the grounds of parking provision and traffic. Committee was told that no parking spaces would be lost through the extension, and that the three extra doctors would be trainees, meaning no increase in patient numbers.
The Committee did ask that there should be a redesign of the car park in an attempt to create more spaces.
